Mr. D. Jay Tranbarger, was born in Anderson, Indiana, on March 13, 1953, the son of Paul H. Tranbarger and the late Phyllis I. (Hunt) Tranbarger.
Reared and educated in Boone County, Indiana, Jay graduated from Thorntown High School in 1972.
On August 19, 1973, in Thorntown, he was married to Pauletta Sue (Rader) Tranbarger. Mrs. Tranbarger survives.
Jay worked in the building trades field as a carpenter. For the past twenty years, he worked as a building inspector and as a field agent for the Boone County Soil & Water Conservation District. He took great pleasure in educating the kids of Western Boone and Lebanon High Schools about water and soil conservation.
Dedicated to his family, Jay loved spending time with all of them. During the warmer months, he enjoyed tending to his vegetable garden and blackberries for homemade jam.

Funeral Services will be held at Myers Mortuary, 1502 North Lebanon Street, in Lebanon, Indiana, on Thursday, January 3, 2013, at 10:30 a.m.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 2, 2013, at the funeral home in Lebanon.
Interment will follow at the Lincoln Memory Gardens in Boone County, Indiana.
